Orwell and the Brevity Blog

I'm on the Brevity blog again, rambling once more about one of my favorite essays and challenging the perception that "creative nonfiction" began with Talese, Wolfe, and company.

Find it here ...

I’m surprised no one in my writing discussion group has quoted Oscar Wilde to me. “I may have said the same thing before…but my explanation, I am sure, will always be different.”

While you're there, you should follow the link to Ann Bauer's Modern Love essay in the New York Times, which can be found in the previous post.

Hi Gary,

There's a straightforward typo in your tinyurl for the Orwell blog

The "Gary Presley" tag over at the Brevity blog is growing larger every day. The only tags with a larger font are Dinty W. Moore and Brevity. At this rate, it will soon be the Brevity blog, featuring Gary Presley. :)

Good show! It's no small job to market your self, especially with a publication so near on the horizon.
