Into the Arms of Fed-Ex

The memoir formerly known as Riding Lessons: Learning by the Seat of my Pants is on a three day trip from Springfield to the University of Iowa Press after the third revision of its fourth rewrite.

"Forget about it until you get the copy-edited manuscript back," says the editor. "You'll need to look at it with fresh eyes."

I'm willing. I'm tired of writing, at least in that format. It is good to be done.

Now I await title selection, with the Press lobbying mightily to include the word polio in the title.

Congratulations Gary. You have been at it for awhile. Maybe you can forget it, but my guess is that you even dream about it at night. Rest up. You've got a book tour to do later...

Speaking of book tours . . . make sure you come to Boston! That would be so awesome! I'll buy your book no matter what, but I'll buy a bunch of copies if you come to Boston and sign it in person.
